I just finished watching an interview with Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase as you all know, and there was one thing he said that stood out to me.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, minute 23:31, Armstrong says this: "Eventually we get to the right outcome, even if it takes a while".
The Wall Street Journal interviewer, who by the one I think he did a good job by asking difficult but legitimate questions showing no personal bias on his part, asked him a lot of different questions.
Addressing the lack of clarity that permeates the crypto industry in the US, Armstrong essentially said (not quoting, just summarizing) there's a lack of clarity in the US, whereas other financial hubs, especially the UAE, the UK and even Europe (he means EU), are actually making life relatively easy for crypto players.
He says the law is clear in the UAE, UK and EU, but it isn't in the US, but he also says he's confident the US will eventually get it right.
Winston Churchill once famously said you "can always count on Americans to do the right thing... after they've tried everything else."
So I have faith. I know Congress will eventually strongarm (pun intended, see what I did there?) the SEC into doing the right thing, or they'll figure out a way to replace Gensler.
At that point, one month, one year, one decade from now, crypto will eventually be regulated in the US as well.
