Google says there's "no straight line" between AI and unemployment.

What they probably mean by that is that the development and rise of AI does not, automatically and directly, lead to unemployment.

Which sounds like bulls**t. But it's probably true.

So far, in my admittedly limited experience, I've found AI to be useful, but nowhere near good enough to replace, well, me. For starters.

The image for this post was created with AI. Brilliant. But I still had to write this, still had to post it, and add the tags and so on.

Also, some people might say, "oh well AI could've written that".

First, writing for a living entails a lot more than just actual 'writing'.

And second, AI written prose is still just horrible drivel that wouldn't get past any editor worth their salt.

So yeah, I agree with Google.

FOR NOW.
