I read somewhere that one of the biggest mistakes we can make is to assume that just because somebody's in a high-ranking position to do a job, that person is actually qualified for the job.
In other words, just because they make the big bucks, it doesn't mean they're not idiots.
Chase Bank is emailing customers, telling them any attempt to transfer funds to a crypto exchange will be blocked.
Further, Chase is openly telling customers if they're not happy with this, they can bank somewhere else.
If I were a Chase Bank customer, I'd open a new account with a different bank today. And then gradually empty my Chase Bank account. And then close down my account.
It's a no-brainer. Not just because I'm a 'crypto bro', but because there's no scenario in which I think this is acceptable. The second your bank dictates where or if you get to spend your money, you need to run.
It's an interesting stance from Chase. Because it implies they (should) know that most of their customers are NOT into crypto. I'm sure they've done their due diligence.
I'm sure they've thought this through.
Just in case they haven't, here's the bottom line: they can't win.
Any attempt to kill crypto will produce exactly the opposite result.
We've seen this before, in a way. Legacy media outlets have done everything they could to discredit and kill digital-first creators. And they failed spectacularly. And now they're playing catch-up.
It's the same with crypto. Chase can do whatever they want but it won't make a difference.
