Bitcoin Pizza Day - 14 years later, people are still buying Pizza with Bitcoin

On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz famously spent 10,000 BTC on pizzas in what is now celebrated every year as Bitcoin Pizza Day.

At today's rate, those pizzas are basically worth $695 million.

But what is really amazing is the fact that today, people are still buying pizzas using crypto.

Crypto firms such as Bitrefill sell thousands of crypto-funded gift cards, and a whopping amount is spent on pizza orders from Papa John's and Pizza hut and Domino's and the likes.

Interestingly, the most commonly used crypto isn't Bitcoin.

It's Ethereum, followed closely by BTC, LTC, BTC with Lightning and USDC and USDT.

The more you know.
