In what is undoubtedly the weirdest and most random interaction I've seen this week, actor Ashton Kutcher, who some of you may not know is married to fellow actress Mila Kunis, was somehow in the same room as Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin.

Kutcher asked Kunis if she knew what Ethereum was, to which she says no, and this may or may not be a piece of acting, and so he asked Vitalik himself, who for whatever reason was present, to explain.

"Ethereum is a general purpose blockchain. Unlike Bitcoin, which is designed for one application, digital money, Ethereum is an open platform, which  allows people to build their own [projects] on top of it," Vitalik said.

"And anything that's built on top is protected and secured by the network, with thousands of computers around the world. But because it supports a programming language, it allows unlimited creativity when it comes to what kinds of things you can create on top of it."

What an odd and random exchange.
