I've been testing, reviewing and using Solana Seeker for about two months now, and my experience has mostly been positive.
It's a good phone, and it's a free phone. Anybody who ordered one, provided they didn't mess up the timing with the airdrops, is in the green.
It cost $450 in the earliest available window, and $500 thereafter, but the airdrops included exceeded that cost.
I'm assuming, and quite frankly hoping, that there'll be a part III, after Solana Saga and Seeker, and there are three things I'd keep, and three things I'd change.
Things I'd keep
The first thing I'd keep is the layout and UX. It's pretty good, especially for an Android, so I reckon Solana should improve on this, but without revolutionising it.
The second thing I like about it, and wouldn't change, is the overall design. There's definitely room for improvement, but I think it works. Even the box it came in is cool.
Things I'd change
I know they did this to keep the costs down, but Seeker feels plasticky and cheap and flimsy. It doesn't feel like a quality item when you touch it and use it and handle it. That's the first thing I'd change.
The second thing I'd change is the camera. I think somebody called it 'electronic noise', which is what happens when for example the amount of MP is writing a check that the lenses can't catch. Translated into simple terms, the videos are a bit low-res, and the pictures look unnatural, like they already come out heavily edited.
Honourable mention
Like Saga, Solana Seeker comes with a built-in dApp store, which is a bit fidgety to navigate. I still haven't found any apps that I can actually use, but that's probably on me, not on Solana. Still, something worth exploring.
