BIS believes that a coronavirus pandemic may speed up the acceptance of digital payments.

The CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) debates may also intensify.

Cash and COVID-19

March 3 this year BIS published a report in which it made some insights on the spread of coronavirus using a payment method :

"... Regardless of whether the fears are justified or not,

the belief that cash can spread pathogens is able to change the behavior of users and companies in making payments. ... "

Some politicians are already in favor of digital payment systems. Let's not forget that they have their own interest in it.   351665157-37f34bc52289f3a2071b2f9fc8f412356ea53b8bb3f06137413ce163ce5844e6.jpeg

Cash elimination is like taking away your freedom!!

Thanks to this, the authorities could control the community at every step. People are informed that paper money is a carrier of a dangerous virus, they panic. So it's easier to control them ...

Although Bitcoin itself is decentralized, this will not be the case with the digital currency of the central bank. Would this be progress towards innovation or more control ?
