Who, or What is Edward to Bigfoots Jacob?

The popularity of the Twilight book-series took the world by storm. Some were surprised, although they should not have been. The series utilizes classical archetypes that have appealed to female sexuality for ages and beyond.

The two main love interests of Bella is ofcourse Edward and Jacob. The vampire and werewolf.

These creatures are not exclusively featured romantically in Twilight. For example, they are a main feature of the Sookie Stackhouse series, which the TV-series True Blood is based upon. The protagonist Sookie is not as selective as Bella, having way more lovers of both vampires and werewolves, but also other fantastic creatures, like dog and tiger-shapeshifters, and fairies. Love is less in focus with Sookie than Bella. All of which holds the same qualities of either Edward or Jacob. Twilight targets a more innocent teen audience, in contrast to the more mature readers of Stackhouse.

Just like women in the real world, their degree of selectivity and focus on love vs. lust can vary. But what is the same is the archetypes. In this piece we will focus on the vampire/werewolf dynamic since it is the most well-known, thanks to Twilight.

Entire PHD-thesis can be written about the appeal of these archetypes, but here we will just do a quick summary:

The vampire - Cold, Beautiful, Intelligent, Calculated, Selfcentered and most of all, Mysterious. Like a seductive serial killer, but with the soul of a tortured artist.

The werewolf -  Hot, Rough, Animalistic, Quick-Tempered, Selfless and Loyal. Like a guard-dog with a human face and a six pack.

These different archetypes holds different appeals to different types of women, exemplified by the huge Team Edward vs Team Jacob dynamic that evolved during the rise of Twilights popularity.

During these past few years, the rise of Bigfoot as a sexual fantasy has increased massively. Multiple romantic novels featuring him/it has popped up, with the most popular series "Cum for Bigfoot" soon reaching 20 novels due to its great popularity.

It is easy to see why. Bigfoot fits right in as the Jacob stereotype. Big, strong and animalistic. He treats his captive women well because he finds them beautiful, but his animal lust for them also shows.

Therefore it is only a matter of time before the next Twilight arises, but with Bigfoot as one of its two main romantic characters. The big question eluded to in the title of this piece is; Who, or what is the other?

Bigfoot is mainly found in American folklore, located in the big, wild forests of northern U.S and Canada, so it makes sense to have the other type of creature have a relationship to the forest as well, but it might not be necessary.

Maybe a native-american shaman, a spirit of the forest or some sort of demon-hunter like in the show Supernatural.

The only real criteria is the creature must fit the vampire archetype.

What do you think? - What will be the next Edward fighting for our protagonists love and lust against the animalistic nature of Bigfoot?
