This article has nothing to do with a debate on whether God exists or doesn't exist. Whether you have a soul or don't have a soul. This information does not care about who believes their religion is better than the next person's religion or if there is or isn't an afterlife. However, this is practical information about the science behind the philosophy of human nature. In other words, the human soul, or the soul of the human being.
This is the part of us that goes beyond rules, regulations, laws, and Commandments in terms of governing ourselves. This is about the philosophical question about being wrong or right in making your decisions. That decision at the moment of facing a temptation that may harm you or someone else is the key, so you would like to make the right decision. But, inner forces that influence our decision plays a party in that outcome based on those decisions.
To get straight to the point, it is our sins and virtues that influence our decisions down the path of iniquity or righteousness. It is our ability to control the sins that we are afflicted with that keep us off the path of iniquity. It's our constant practice and striving to reach the top of our virtues that allow us to be as righteous as we can possibly be. When we forget or we're very weak in our virtues, that's when the power of sins can afflict us and make us weak enough to fall a victim of the path of iniquity. And, then there are those of us that seek the path of sins and are drawn to the path of iniquity like a mosquito to blood.
This information is about how to be righteous and how not to be evil no matter what God, religion, or anything else you believe in. From here you must be open-minded because we're not talking about rules, regulations, and laws. This thinking tries to answer the questions of, "why" and how far to go?
When you take into account the hypothetical situation of someone's rule, law, regulation, or commandment stating that lying is totally wrong. From this position of thinking, your evil if you tell a lie, therefore you should never lie. Than the open-minded person comes along and asks, "never"?
Is there a time when there are government secrets or life and death on the line where a lie is necessary? You mean to tell me if you see the young girl hiding with fear and terror in her eyes and then the big Ax Murderer comes up with blood dripping down his ax and ask, "where is she"!?
You're just going to be like, "she's under the car", and dip, hmm?
There it is, she's dead, but you didn't tell a lie! Rules, laws, regulations, and Commandments are here to protect us on one level, but our sins and virtues are our way for us to think for ourselves. Even more than that, they're in place when we are faced with those temptations that'll lead us down the path of iniquity or a path of righteousness. This is the ability for an evil person to heal themselves and become righteous again, and everything in between.
When I was looking for the information to write my book, The Balance to Life, I found this information. This means I didn't formulate this information at all. This is ancient wisdom written by our ancestors so long ago who knows when it was written really. The information states that our sins and our virtues are the catalysts that meet us when we're at a decision between going down the wrong path or choosing the right path. The temptation is the major key that comes into play, a lot more comes into play on other philosophical planes. So remember, you are tempted to harm yourself with sins just as much as you are tempted to harm other people. You must be virtuous with other people as well as hold a high virtuous standard with yourself.
Let's take a small example of greed. You're walking up the street and you see a person drop something very valuable and they didn't notice. Well, here's your chance to get away with something very valuable or pick it up and return it to its owner. What type of person are you when faced with this greed? Here's something a little bit deeper. The fundraiser comes around and you politely tell them no, but you always say no. Beyond fundraising, your friends, family, and everyone know not to ask you for anything. You never say yes to helping anyone, but yourself. From here we can go down many philosophical paths of how much greed is too greedy? So, what's the opposite or the opposition to Greed?
Our ancestors wrote that the opposition to sins are virtues. Yes, it's seven sins and the Seven Virtues, but they branch off like roots in a tree which leads to the other variations and possibilities of what can afflict a person or be a person's greatness. Like, charity is only a smaller part of sharing from the heart. So, let's look at this group of sins in no particular order right now.
Sins:
1. Greed
2. Lust
3. Gluttony
4. Sloth
5. Envy
6. False Pride
7. Wrath
Now, we'll look at the virtues in its opposition to the sin in the list above.
Virtues:
1. Sharing
2. Chastity
3. Temperance
4. Diligence
5. Kindness
6. Humility
7. Patience
The Soul's philosophy to the path of righteousness and iniquity. How to be righteous and how not to be evil. One-fourth of a balanced life. Of course, I go deeper in-depth on this subject in my book, The Balance to Life.
Another real deep thing to remember when knowing this knowledge is that knowing it is not going to make you strong. Putting it into practice will make you strong both internally and externally. It's like knowing the diet, but you're still fat because you never put it into practice and have no follow-through. I believe it would take a total Saint to walk the path of Virtues and have no sins. And, I would like to be close to that type of person one day myself. So trust me, I'm awake to the full diet but walking the path is another thing. It takes strength that I'm trying to grow myself. Peace.
