The movie industry is one of the hottest industries in India. There are hundreds of movies released in India within one year. Some movies are from big actors and some movies are also from starters luckily the movies from Starters are also very good and they easily make their first crore. Some directors gave a mega-hit in their first movie itself. Some directors have the talent to make the movie in multiple languages that will also gradually become a huge collection everywhere. The movie distributors also play a very important role in making the movie reach the general public.
For someone who would like to make quick money within a short period, making movies is a good opportunity. Some people also use movies as a tool for tax evasion. These days proper movie making costs several crores. The more the budget, the more returns it can give. Sometimes a movie is heavy budget but ends up not going very well. Movies are a balance of both good and bad. We cannot predict how things can be.
Approaching a producer with a movie idea
To make a movie, we have to approach a good producer for the funding. Producers are the people who usually have a lot of money to invest and they invest the money on some directors and they somehow double or triple the money. Some producers want to spend a lot of money on movies because the tax system in India is something like people cannot do much after a point because the earnings would be very high and if they spend it on certain things they get a tax exemption.
Movie making process
Similar to any other industry, movie making is also a very big process and so many people would be involved in making a movie. The style of making a movie differs from one director to another. But overall before the movie is released, so many people benefit from this. Many job opportunities are created for technicians and actors. Every single role in the movie is mostly a paid role so we have to imagine how many people are getting paid in making a movie. Some of the top actors in the movie are paid in crores of rupees.
Movie-making happens for several months and even years sometimes. The producer does the spending throughout the movie-making process and everyone in the team gets their salary. Later after the movie is over and released, they get their investment back. To make a movie it is not only about the salary that the team gets paid but the producer will also have to take care of the team by providing food and other amenities during the production time.
Pay taxes with the profit
After a successful movie, the producer has to pay taxes to the government and enjoy the remaining amount. However big the tax is on the returns, if they are making more than what they have invested, they should be happy to pay the taxes. It is not only a good business for the movie-making team but it is also a good thing for the government because they can earn a lot of money through taxes.
In movies, there are also options available where a producer can also declare loss from the movie. Some producers do this to evade tax which is illegal but sometimes this also happens. If they have a lot of black money, this is one good place to make it white.
Promotions play an important role
For a low-budget movie, it can be hard to do promotions. Sometimes directors are also wise in even doing some promotion activities for a low-budget movie. They allocate a lot of money for promotion activity even though the movie is low budget and with the promotion itself, they gather a big crowd of audience before the movie is released. Promotions play a very important role because they can change the collection phenomenon to a greater extent. For some movies the movie team does a good job in promotions and marketing and this way no matter how the outcome of the movie is, they make a lot of money within the first week of the movie. This first-week collection itself will make them get their invested money back. Anything that comes after that becomes a huge profit for them.
