Frozen Time novel written by Arvin Abadi: Chapter 3 Part 8

Everything is over. Just like the things I never expected, but they happened.

It was as if they had advertised on the city walls that we needed something good to happen. To happen and happen.

In a few days we will have to prepare for the final performance of the “Lonely Man” play. This play by the Lone Man, whatever it was, brought me closer to Behrouz and made him forget Manya and return to his home.

All these events happened in the blink of an eye and it was as if all the bad days had disappeared from our lives. It was as if that night when I went to Behrouz’s street theater changed him a lot. Or maybe he had changed in prison. I really don’t know?

I decided to stay with Behrouz more and not go to clean this and that house anymore. But maybe my mistakes are not without effect on this path. After all, maybe I made some mistakes too. Now nothing is the same and I don't blame Behrouz for smoking. Even about the photo of Manya. In any case, it was part of the memories that Behrouz has left behind and he can't erase these memories from his life.

In a few days, when the Tony Theater Festival is held, all the hard work we put into the theater will pay off and it is even possible that the friends that Behrouz made in prison will be released from prison with the status of our theater.

I haven't met his friends and I don't think they are bad people. But as he said, one of them is named Anoush and the other is Sadri. That day, when I was talking to him, Behrouz was saying: "I wrote this play when the creditors were after me, and then I went to prison and finished it in prison."

Juan: You haven't seen any good from these theaters so far, do you think your theater will work?!

Behrouz: Yes, I believe in this theater and I think that if I can send this theater to a festival somewhere, it will win a 100% award.

Xuan: What can I say, Vala, keep in mind that there are no two of us now, and now Shervin also lives with us, and now there are three of us. If you pour all your money into this, it may not work out.

Behrouz: No. After prison, I met a man named Makivand and he is going to help us with this.

I must admit that at first I was not confident in Behrouz's work and I thought that this work of his would not work out like his other works and that we would have to live off our own pockets again. But now that I am at the "Tony Theater", I have come to believe in Behrouz's words and understand that he knows exactly what he is doing.

After these incidents, he himself said: "I will go to prison myself and teach Anoush and Sadri how to perform. I also talked to my friend Sohail and he said: Your steps are on the right track. A private plateau is for you and your wife. Come here to practice."

Even that day, he said: "Look, Juan. These are the doors that God is opening for us. Why don't we use it?"

Juan: Look, Behrouz. I kicked you out of my life and I don't want Shervin's life to be ruined too! Do you get what I'm saying?!

Behrouz: Yes, but I'm not the same person I used to be and everything has changed.

Juan: You're living with memories. So it's better that you're in memories. I don't want you to ruin my life and this child's life either.

Behrouz: Juan, I love my life. I don't want you or Shervin in my life.

Juan: You're not even willing to forget Manya for me or Shervin.

Behrouz: I used my past to write A Lonely Man and even this life that had become hell for us.

Juan: What do you mean?!

Behrouz: I brought all the memories I had with you or Manya into the play and wrote them all.

Juan: You mean all the memories?

Behrouz: Yes, all of them.

Juan: But I don't trust you, Behrouz, because you gave up everything and left.

Behrouz: No, I won't leave you this time.

Juan: You know, I can't give my opinion until I read your play. I don't promise to accompany you to this theater.

That's why he gave me his play to read that day. After reading the play and seeing how hard it was for Behrouz, I decided to join him in this work and appear on stage with Shervin and himself.

Behrouz’s play was written in a completely realistic and true way, and when I was reading it, it was as if I felt it with my skin and blood, understood his emotions, and was immersed in it.

After reading the play, I finally agreed to have Shervin in the theater and be one of the actors.

Days passed by, and as we got closer to the festival day, our stress increased. On the last day when we all went to the festival performance, Behrouz told me: “Until some time ago, my freedom depended on the benefactor who paid our debts. But today, the freedom of two people depends on you and Shervin and the rest of the children. I only wrote part of this story, “The Lonely Man.” The rest depends on your acting.”

Juan: Don't worry about Shervin and me. Let me see, didn't you underestimate me?! Don't you remember that I used to act in the best plays in the university?!

Behrouz: You know, I didn't underestimate you at all and I know that you will perform your best on stage, I'm just a little stressed that maybe everything won't go the way we want it to.

Juan: Don't worry! The God who released you from prison, I know that He won't leave you alone in this situation and will help you. After all, God cares for everyone.

Behrouz: You're right.

You know. A time passes and you realize that you were the cause and sponsor of all the things that happened to you, and no one else, and you can't even blame anyone else.

That day, he told me: "I'm a cocoon that I have. To the fact that I will soon be a butterfly, to the smoke gathering in the back of my lungs, to being on my own and to me in the corner of the room.

Or last time he would say: “Young man, it’s okay. We are going to be butterflies. Let the world weave its cocoon as it pleases.
