Zanzibar - okolice Matemwe - kolejne miejsce, kolejne doznania
After a few days spent in the capital of Zanzibar, Stone Town, we decided to move to another place on the island. The choice was mainly based on price, and we wanted some seclusion.
Po kilku dniach spędzonych w stolicy Zanzibaru, czyli Stone Town, postanowiliśmy przenieść się do kolejnej miejscówki na wyspie. Wybór był podyktowany głównie ceną, i chcieliśmy trochę odosobnienia.
We decided to move to the other side of the island, where you can admire sunrises, not sunsets. We chose the good-class Miramont Retreat Zanzibar in Kilima Juu Pwani, near the town of Matemwe
Postanowiliśmy przenieść się na drugą stronę wyspy, gdzie podziwia się wschody a nie zachody słońca. Wybraliśmy dobrej klasy Miramont Retreat Zanzibar w miejscowości Kilima Juu Pwani, niedaleko miasteczka Matemwe.
The place turned out to be extremely charming and peaceful. It was quite a surprise for us, because the yellow beaches in Stone Town were filled with white and flour-fine sand. In addition, the huge spaces and beaches were a fantastic experience.
Miejsce okazało się niezwykle urokliwe i spokojne. Było dla nas sporym zaskoczeniem, bo po żółtych plażach w Stone Town zastał nas biały i drobny jak mąka piasek. Do tego ogromne przestrzenie i plaże były fantastycznym doznaniem.
We were so enchanted by the place that we decided to stay there for 6 nights. However, the distance of 3 km from any villages was taking its toll because walking in the heat was very strenuous.
Miejsce nas urzekło na tyle, że postanowiliśmy pozostać tam 6 nocy. Oddalenie jednak od jakichkolwiek wiosek o 3 km dawało się we znaki, bo spacer w upale był bardzo uciążliwy.
In remote villages, and even in ours, which was behind a steel gate, you could see the real life of the locals. It is very modest, one could say on the verge of poverty, but people are happy.
W oddalonych wioskach, i nawet w naszej, która była za stalową bramą, można było przyjrzeć się prawdziwemu życiu miejscowych. Jest ono bardzo skromne, można powiedzieć, że na granicy ubóstwa, niemniej ludzie są szczęśliwi.
To help them a little, we decided to eat mainly in villages and not in a hotel, even though it was associated with the risk of gastric problems. Fortunately, there were no such unpleasant stories. We also did grocery shopping in local stores, which, however, was not always pleasant, because children in Zanzibar are very difficult and burdensome. Begging for anything is the norm on the island.
Żeby im trochę dopomóc, postanowiliśmy stołować się głównie w wioskach, a nie w hotelu, choć wiązało się to z ryzykiem problemów gastrycznych. Na szczęście obyło się bez takich nieprzyjemnych historii. Zakupy spożywcze również robiliśmy w miejscowych sklepach, co jednak nie zawsze było przyjemne, bo dzieci na Zanzibarze są bardzo trudne i uciążliwe. Żebranie o cokolwiek to norma na wyspie.
A beautiful place for a quiet holiday, perfect for long walks on white beaches and contact with the locals. But in the long run, you can get bored to death there. The lack of places and entertainment causes apathy, and swimming in an illuminated pool every day gets boring just as quickly.
Miejsce piękne na spokojny urlop, idealne na długie spacery białym plażami i kontakt z miejscowymi. Ale na dłuższą metę, można się tam zanudzić na śmierć. Brak lokali i rozrywek powoduje apatię, a codzienna kąpiel w podświetlanym basenie nudzi się równie szybko.
However, it is worth visiting this place, because Zanzibar, even though it is a small island, is very diverse and interesting. The next entry about this place will be mainly a video version.
Warto jednak odwiedzić to miejsce, bo Zanzibar, mimo iż jest niewielką wyspą jest bardzo różnorodny i ciekawy. Kolejny wpis o tym miejscu będzie w wersji głównie wideo.
