Wyspa Rodos, wyprawa do Zatoki Anthony Quinna
Not everything always works out the way we want, and that was our case. Our arrival in Rhodes was greeted by a storm, and that wasn’t really a problem, because it didn’t come until the evening.
Nie zawsze wszystko wychodzi tak jak byśmy chcieli, tak było w naszym przypadku. Przyjazd na Rodos przywitał nas burzą, i to w zasadzie nie był problem, bo pojawiła się dopiero wieczorem.
The problem was the weather the next day. The temperature dropped to 19 degrees, and the wind was so strong that at times it was difficult to stand on your feet. It was the first time in my life that I had to deal with such a strong element.
Problemem była pogoda następnego dnia. Temperatura spadła do 19 stopni, a wiatr była tak silny, że momentami trudno było ustać na nogach. Pierwszy raz w życiu miałem do czynienia z tak silnym żywiołem.
Despite this, we decided to walk from Faliraki to the famous place that is Anthony Quinn Bay. This was not an easy thing to do, due to very difficult weather conditions, piercing wind and disgusting drizzle.
Mimo tego, postanowiliśmy z Faliraki wybrać się pieszo do osławionego miejsca jakim jest zatoka Anthony Quinn. Nie była to prosta sprawa, ze względu na bardzo trudne warunki atmosferyczne, przenikliwy wiatr i obrzydliwa mżawka.
We didn't meet a single person along the way, which wasn't surprising. We trudged along winding paths to the summit from which a view of the bay and the town of Faliraki stretched. There were plenty of wonderful views along the way, and despite the unfavorable weather, the trip was a success.
Po drodze nie spotkaliśmy ani jednej osoby, co nie było zaskoczeniem. Brnęliśmy krętymi ścieżkami a szczyt z którego miał rozciągać się widok na zatokę i miasteczko Faliraki. Po drodze mnóstwo wspaniałych widoków, i mimo niesprzyjającej aury wyprawa była udana.
At the top of the hill, from which you can observe the beauty of the island, there is a chapel. Surprisingly, someone got there before us, because the candles were burning.
Na szczycie wzniesienia, z którego można obserwować piękno wyspy, znajduje się kapliczka. O dziwo, ktoś tam jednak przed nami dotarł, bo paliły się świeczki.
We didn't make it to the bay itself though. We were prevented from doing so by an incredibly strong wind that could have blown us over the edge at any moment. I might add that I weigh almost 100 kg and I didn't feel confident even taking pictures.
Do samej zatoki jednak nie dotarliśmy. Uniemożliwił nam to nieprawdopodobnie silny wiatr, który w każdej chwili mógł nas zdmuchnąć w przepaść, dodam, że ja ważę blisko 100 kg, i nie czułem się pewnie nawet robiąc zdjęcia.
To sum up another day in Rhodes - we had very bad weather, but we fulfilled the minimum plan. The following days were much better, with lots of sun and no rain.
Podsumowując kolejny dzień na Rodos - trafiliśmy na bardzo złą pogodę, ale plan minimum zrealizowaliśmy. Następne dni były już znacznie lepsze, z dużą ilością słońca i bez deszczu.
