Grzybki z dzisiejszego spaceru i wspomnienie poprzedniego sezonu

Spacerując sobie dzisiaj po parku, w ten nietypowy, bo świąteczny dzień wspominam sobie czasy, gdy z moimi rodzicami, nieżyjącymi już penetrowałem lasy Lubelszczyzny i Podlasia w poszukiwaniu grzybów.

Walking in the park today, on this unusual Christmas day, I remember the times when, with my deceased parents, I explored the forests of the Lublin region and Podlasie in search of mushrooms.

It was a period when you simply did not put certain species in your basket because there was no space for butter mushrooms, black mushrooms or bay boletes. We were only interested in boletus edulis, which was extremely plentiful at that time. As the saying goes - you could mow it with a scythe.

To był okres, gdzie pewnych gatunków po prostu nie wkładało się do koszyka, bo szkoda było miejsca, na maślaki, kozaki, czy podgrzybki. Interesowały nas tylko borowiki szlachetne, których było wtedy za trzęsienie. Jak to się mówi - można było kosą kosić.

Those times are long gone and it's thanks to people. Not only industry and the depletion of forests, but also human greed have led to the extinction of many species, and those that were once common are now rare.

Te czasy już dano minęły i to za zasługą ludzi. Nie tylko przemysł i wyjałowienie lasów, ale również ludzka pazerność doprowadziła do wyginięcia wielu gatunków, a te które były niegdyś codziennością, dzisiaj są rzadkością.

Mam jeszcze jednak nadzieję, że uda mi się jutro wyskoczyć do lasu na kilka godzin, i uzupełnić braki w lodówce i może uda się zrobić trochę suszu.

And the beetles have their feast. Decaying mushrooms are their favorite food. They won't despise young people either.

No i żuczki mają swoją ucztę. Rozpadające się grzyby to ich ulubiony pokarm. Młodymi też nie pogardzą.
