The next step - polishing to a gloss, semi-gloss, semi-matt - depending on your preferences. I start with 120 grit paper and switch to water based sandpaper 400 to 3000. Finally, polishing paste.
The last stage is a polymer varnish, wood oil or wood wax - we'll see;)
