Enjoying someone else’s creation is in itself an act of love. Behind each collage shared there is effort and dedication of its creator, as well as time and resources invested in its elaboration.
To keep the momentum going, I want to share with you my latest free creation, using resources from Pixabay, a site I have been collaborating with for several years. I encourage you to contribute your content if you are a lover of photography, illustration, and art in general, because of the usefulness of its license. This puts at our disposal a large base of high quality resources that can be freely used in our projects without worries.
I also want to share with you three tips that I consider very important to encourage creativity, especially in lovers of collages and photomanipulation in general:
-
Experiment and explore: Many times we use the same style or technique. Take the time to explore new editing programs, new ways to use the tools and try different options.
-
Collect and share: Create your own knowledge base. Save those works that inspire you or those photos that have caught your eye. Revisit them from time to time or when you feel stuck. You can use various services for this. Personally, I use a Pinterest board.
-
Create: Yes, it’s as simple as that, isn’t it? Creating is sometimes hard. Facing the blank canvas can cause various mixed feelings, but to paraphrase one of my favorite Van Gogh quotes once again, “If you hear a voice telling you that you can’t paint, paint!”. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake or end up giving up for a few days. Come back with new energy and inspiration. It’s very helpful to set goals and stick to a creative plan or routine.
Without further ado, I leave you with my collage and part of the process.
