Let me briefly tell the story ...
On telegram, I am contacted by an attractive and half-naked girl with a Russian name, who offers me to invest in a site that - according to her - gives 110% of the deposit after just an hour.
Enthusiastic and excited by the beauty of the young lady, I immediately decide to click and deposit ...
No, I'm kidding, of course! :-)
Immediately feeling the hint of a scam, I decided to play as an investigator and investigate a bit on the site in question.
In addition to the classic details from HYIP scam (i.e. 99.9% of them), such as domain registered a few days ago, payment systems (cryptocurrencies and PM), clearly false positive and dramatically true negative reviews, exaggerated ROI, the smokiness in the investment system, poor English, etc., in this case, the peculiarity is that the scammers in question used the name and logo of a real and rather important company, attaching the word "Finance" to it.
I do not intend to name or provide links so as not to promote such scum, but the legit company in question is Japanese, listed on the Nikkei stock exchange, and one of the most important in the sector of devices for opticians and ophthalmologists.
The strategy of these scammers was therefore to exploit a rather well-known brand (but not too much) to give a semblance of legitimacy. A sort of HYIP hijacking. They really come up with a lot of them ...
In any case, the lessons to be learned, especially for newbies, are always the same, that is not to click, visit, and above all deposit money without having first carried out a very detailed analysis on the seriousness and reliability of the platform.
Be careful especially if on telegram you are registered in groups concerning bitcoin, blockchain, and the like, since I was contacted from there.
UPDATE:
Ridiculous update.
I contacted the assistance of this self-styled HYIP via chat and asked:
- How is Satoshi Hirano?
They told me they don't know him.
I then replied "Strange, he is your CEO!"
They: "What?"
To which I, more explicitly:
he is the Representative Director, President & CEO of the company you stole the name and the logo.
Up to that point, the chat proceeded fast between question and answer; after this assertion of mine I had to wait 10 minutes before getting the following answer: "okay".
These scammers haven't even studied the basics before using a company name and logo. Unbelievable that such idiots can scam people so easily!
