Becoming the fastest RPC layer for 8 blockchains
In October 2021 we released the long-awaited Ankr Protocol: an entire platform of public endpoints that enabled developers from 100 countries to interface with 8 most popular blockchains to get the data they need to build dApps in a completely decentralized and open manner.
Ankr Protocol launch created a new significant utility for the $ANKR token that was enthusiastically met by our community. You can find out more about how Ankr Protocol works here.
The acquisition of Fantom Tools RPC became an important addition to the Ankr product line, becoming one of the most popular RPCs on our platform. In the period of October-December 2021 we are proud to have exceeded 179 billion calls on Ankr’s https://rpc.ftm.tools. This is more than 3.5 billion requests per day!
Enhancing Binance Smart Chain performance
Working closely with the Binance ecosystem for years, in December 2021 we made one of the most significant steps in our collaboration so far by implementing Erigon — an upgrade that allows to significantly improve data storage efficiency and performance of Binance Smart Chain.
Through the Erigon client, we are able to reduce the required disk storage for the BSC archive node from 17TB to 1.2TB. This allows for a faster sync speed of over 10 blocks per second and a fully bootstrapped archive node in less than 3 days.
Launching a single explorer for 11 chains
Ankr Protocol enables developers to build across multiple blockchains — an exciting new world that brings its own new challenges. Recognizing the lack of a single tool to track the transactions across all the chains you are building on, we launched Ankr Scan: an explorer that provides real-time transactions data from 11 blockchains.
Partnering up with Sacramento Kings
This past year we were happy to announce one biggest partnership so far: the multi-year collaboration with Sacramento Kings! In addition to joint educational activities, events, and innovative projects that we have in store for you in 2022, the Kings’ home court in Golden 1 Center now carries Ankr’s branding on each baseline, prominently visible at every game.
