Today I would like to take a moment or two of your time to introduce you to a band... A band that goes by the name of Belzebubs! 

Belzebubs are a Black Metal band, they do however have more of a Melodic death metal sound to them. If Black Metal or metal in general isn't really your scene, you should stick around, there is more to this band than just their music. The band has recorded a documentary from their earliest days to date in the form of webtoons. 

Belzebubs started as a fictional band in 2002 and started recording as a real band in 2018, the have since released 2 singles (2018: Blackened Call, 2019: Cathedrals of Mourning), 1 full lenght album  (2019: Pantheon of the Nightside Gods) and 2 official music videos (Links to vids at the bottom).

The webtoons by the same name are satirical in nature and follow the band, depicted as stereo typical satanic black metal heads, through their day to day adventures, their interactions with the world and real world situations. There is a focus on family life, friendship and a touch of the obscene.

THE BAND

With names like Sløth (Vocals, Guitar), Hubbath (Vocals, Bass), Obesyx (Guitar), Samaël (Drums), one can only guess that they hail from Finland or the like. Though most of the focus of Belzebubs is on the comics, webtoons and animations the band's music is on par with some the greatest bands out there, memorable melodies, catchy lyrics and serious shredding.

THE CARTOON

I noticed the cartoons on pinterest first, there were only two that popped up from time to time, a little kid drawing pentagrams on the wall, a little girl telling on him and the mother correcting his pentagrams. The interaction between them is typical of any family, yes it has the satanic black metal aspect to it,  that, however, does not seem to make it any less relatable. Sloth being the father, Lucyfer the mother, Lilith the moody teenage daughter and Leviathan the young brother.

Some of the cartoon strips would definitely appeal to those with a darker sense of humour, all of them will make most laugh. They are all written and illustrated by JP Ahonen.
