Do you even Anarchy?
I pose this question to you, my audience.
What is Anarchy? What do you believe it to be, what were you taught that it is?
Is there Anarchy in you?
Is there a place for Anarchy in the world?
Most people I have debated this subject matter with take a political standing or have a preconceived idea that Anarchy is a style or kind of Punk,
they are not wrong, nor are they right. Anarchy is so much more than an anti political stand, so much more than the chaos that is seen in Punk culture.
It is more and can be far more than the world perceives it to be, there is room for growth within the idea itself as there is room for growth in each and every one of us. There has been for years a notion that humanity must be ruled, must listen to an authority. Ruled by whom? Who exactly is this authority that they want to force us to listen to?
Why... it is you, it is me, it is us! If allowed to rule oneself growth is inevitable, learning is unending, there is no stopping the expansion that would ensue. I say this because I have lived it and I have seen it with my own eyes. The change that could happen the world over if we were to all stand together as an authority over ourselves, each responsible for his or her own actions and choices, is a scary thought, good scary though. As a self ruled unity the world might, just may, become a pleasant place for every being that inhabits it.
As a person, an individual, how often do you find yourself wanting to help someone? How often does your heart lead you? How often do you find yourself saddened by not being able to help or unable to assist in some way or another?
The true nature of a human is Anarchy. Whether you like it or not we are all Anarchists.
Improving self leads to an improved world. Making a choice that seems selfish by society's standards is Anarchy. Choosing the better option for yourself against the wishes of their "authority" is Anarchy. Being a good human and thinking for yourself is Anarchy.
It took me many many years to realise this, to come to grip with this. As a Punk and teen my understanding of it was skewed by the world and the meaning they ascribe to words, I was chaotic, without reason or purpose, as I grew older that purposelessness became a hole, a void until I started doing some soul searching, as I grew as a person that void became purpose, that purpose became reason.
That reason is LIFE. a good life filled with all the things that are good for me, that feed me as a person, that nourish my soul.
Anarchy has become my spirituality, my everyday life.
Every choice I make for a better me, every choice I make to better not only myself but the place I am in, the people I am around. Don't get me wrong, I do not have any inclination to change another human being, I like to think that I through my actions and choices show others that they can change for the better.
Thank you for sharing this space we call a planet with me. Thank you for taking the time to share in my thoughts.
