When I was a child, I had guitar lessons, and couldn't get the hang of it, and that soon turned into taking violin lessons, which I was much better at. I played fun songs like London's burning and What shall we do with the drunken sailor? Then I moved onto stage 2 and played The Seasons by Vivaldi, including Spring and Autumn. I also played Tchaikovsky.
I haven't played seriously for many years and my violin is probably out of tune, however I do play it occasionally.
I find it easier to move your finger on a short area of violin than a large area o guitar.
