Bitcoin continues to dominate the crypto news feed today, with Just Eat France now accepting Bitcoin payments for food deliveries. Just Eat will leverage US-based Bitpay as the payment provider, providing Bitcoin holders another avenue for real-life applications and payments. This means that Bitcoin will be accepted at over 15,000 restaurants in France alone, and is fantastic news for crypto enthusiasts around the world.
The home food delivery industry has boomed since the pandemic, and it shows no signs of slowing. The ability to pay quickly and easily is more important today than ever before, so it's no surprise that the Bitcoin would be one of the solutions to this problem.
Just Eat France detailed the program on their website, stating that all Bitcoin transactions would not involve a fee. On the surface, this seems problematic especially given the increasing gas costs for transactions. Despite that however, there's no doubting the positive impact that this increased use case will provide for the long time cryptocurrency.
All Just Eat customers can use Bitcoin to pay for their meals, but will be refunded for any cancellations in Euros.
