My Crypto Journey – January

By lnakuma | Akuma's Crypto Journey | 2 Feb 2021

Hello, this is my post of my noob crypto journey, January. It is a list of activities I have done within the month of January in 2021.

As a noob, who still has a lot of learn in the crypto world, I want to keep tracking my monthly effort; and hopefully Crypto gurus here on Publish0x could point me to the right direction.

I am going to specifically list all my work that directly resulting earning various of cryptocurrencies; there will not be any gains from purchasing or investing from fiat money. The sole reason of this decision is, heh, I do not have any fiat money invested.

OK. Here are my baby steps I have made in January.

Publish0x

I have spent majority my time on Publish0x reading and tipping articles.  I always felt that I need to have something to offer before I could write anything here. However, I did have published 3 posts. Of course, I did not expect to anything more than a couple changes. But I have gained 4 followers. It is extremely excited for a foreign speaking person, who is new to the crypto/blockchain, on a crypto/blockchain blog platform.

Post earnings: $0.52

Matters.news

Like I mentioned in my previous posts. Matters and its Like coin was my main source of crypto income. I have made 18 articles and earned 2207.79 Like coins.

Earnings: $24.46

HIVE

I came into the year 2021 with 490 HIVE tokens. I was absent from posting for almost seven months due to my day job. By the end of January, I have ended with in total 694 HIVE tokens. My reputation is only 62.1. Therefore, I would not expect too much from upvote or a huge group of users following me. I am just enjoying my creativity and dry humors in that platform. I was actually surprised that I have earned more from HIVE than Matters. But multiple factors might need to be considered, the price of each token could be one of them.

Earnings: $28.05

TRON

Like I mentioned in HIVE section, I temporarily left crypto world in MAY 2020 due to the amount of work I have to perform at my day job. That was the time when STEEM and HIVE were split. Until today, I still don’t know how to cash out STEEM directly. I just don’t know which exchanges do/did accept it. Well, I know I can convert them to TRX. They also have a staking option to earn Peanut from Nutbox dApp. I’m not here to argue the right and wrong of each platform; but a token is a token.

That being said, with the total amount of 100 SP staking in Nutbox. I have earned 377 PNUT passively for half of the month after I learned the existence of Nutbox. After converting PNUT to TRX and the passive income from the TRX itself. I have collected 159 TRX.

Earnings: $5.22

Brave browser/Uphold

Everybody who used Brave browser probably knows about the discontinue of their referral program. The earning of BAT token per ads also seemed dropped from last year. I can count the total amount of BAT with one hand.

But I have done the first ETH purchase when there was a moment that BAT was up while ETH was down. I spent less than 500 BAT to exchanged 0.11564 ETH, which was $135 at that moment. Now it is around $160. Hey, the first succeed in trading, even though it was not that much.

Earnings: $25…?

Staking

I wanted to experience every aspect of crypto world. Staking is one of them. I did not have much income in January. I have sold most of Coinbase Earns to ALGO and TEZO and let them sit for some passive earnings.

Earnings: less than $1

Faucet

Faucet sucks. I absolutely hate them. But like I said in Staking section, I wanted to experience every aspect of crypto world. That means I have to put myself in harm to feel the drag of faucet clicking, ads reviewing, random closing popups (yes, even with Brave browser), and not to mention, that clicking on all the traffic light you see in those nine photos, but oh wait, there are more photos after you click once. What’s the name called? Oh yeah, reCaptha.

At least I have found out a couple faucet, which are legit.

Earnings: I don’t even know. Something * 10 ^ -4

I want to learn more about $FARM and BlockFi in February. They seemed to have high yield rate. I don’t know how safe they are due to me lack of knowledge. I am going to spend some time to these subjects.
