In 1799 the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt was the pioneer in visiting this cave.

It is located in the eastern part of the Serranía del Interior of the Caripe Mountainous System in the city of Caripe in the monagas state

It has an approximate length of 10.5 km and is formed by sedimentary rocks of 130 million years, inside the cave live some endemic birds of this place whose name is Guacharo, this photo is from wikipedia because it's not allowed to take pictures of the guacharos because the flash light hurts them.

Inside you can see rock formations like stalagmites, stalactites and columns.

There is a large part of the cave that can only be accessed by people authorized to carry out studies and many parts are submerged and are very dangerous for the general public.

All the photos were taken with my camera, except that of the birds since it is forbidden to take photos of them, so I took it from the wikipedia page, I hope you like my post, thank you for watching it.
