What was your first crypto?

What was your first crypto?

Good Morning

Today i am asking the question 'what was your first crypto'? Partly because we are spending a lot of time at the moment thinking about ours but i am interested in how it happened to others.

Were you 'orange pilled by someone? I love this term and almost wish i had been but in the circle of people we know, not even one is into crypto. I can only think of one peson that i think could be orange pilled purely down to his political stance and general distaste of all things government but have not yet had the courage to talk Bitcoin with him, even though we talk about almost anything else.

Did you start off as a GPU miner? This is something David has always wanted to do and we do look at the figures for this but at the moment with our electricity prices it is just not worth it, even though i do see the price of most tokens or coins going up, i also expect our electricity costs will too. We have not ruled it out though and it is still a possibility on our list. (More so know as there is a wood shortage at the moment and we have a wood burner! )

Did you go straight into a Defi project, the promise of such high returns is tempting once you can find the wheat from the chaff. (still looking for the wheat by the way!) We do dabble a little in this area but only with small investments and we are prepared to get out quickly if need be. I have no loyalty here as it is just a way for us to make a little profit (hopefully) to put into Bitcoin.

Are you a purely stable coin holder? Staking tokens and receiving a nice steady trickle. Do you play the Markets? Again we dabble a little but not with huge stakes.

Some of you may be aware that our first project was Helium, which is not looking like the safest bet at the moment but it has opened our eyes too so much more, i have a tingle of excitement every time i add a few more sats to the portfolio so we have leared a great deal in a short space of time. (Bitcoin is king lol). It was not that long ago i had no idea what a CEX or a DEX was, it took me an eternity to use it and convert FIAT (i did not even know that is what it was called!) Metamask used to look terrifying and the only 'gas' i knew was the one you cook with! I had to google HODL even though that is what we were doing i just called it 'saving it up'. We had to research hot wallets and cold wallets and how to use the Ledger.

Although there have been up's and down's we have both enjoyed it all and have no intention of stopping, our small losses we call education to help us make better choices. With Helium only time will tell but we are cautiously hopeful that all will be ok whilst changing the HODL approach to a more 50/50 plan.
