There is no such thing as too much research

There is no such thing as too much research

Good morning

As i have already written a post about some newbie mistakes myself and David have made we will have to wait and see if this project will be another one of those or a glowing success.

As i am still writing from a diary of notes we are not quite yet at 'real time' so this will have to be a wait and see. What have we done now then.....

Around December i put us on a waiting list for a weather xm weather station miner. (another climb on the roof for David then). It is a weather station that will collect local data including wind speed, temperature and humidity and pay you for the data you provide with a token. How much you get rewarded depends on location rareness and the quality of the data provided as well as the 'fair algorithm'.

I have always had a good feeling about this one......my very scientific approach i know and when i got my email inviting me to purchase one i was tapping away immediately. They used the invitaton by email method of purchasing as the first attempt an open sale was nothing more than a crashed website and countless bots so once we had our code we were allowed to order up to 2, we only ordered 1 and this is due to arrive between the end of Q2 and beginning of Q3, so it could be soon but i am expecting the later end.

So did i do proper research? sort of lol there was no real whitepaper, did i research all the people involved? um well i did a bit, do they have an active social media? yes there is a reasonable discord community (no i still have no idea about discord but David shows me things of interest). Does it have a use? yes i think so. Tokenomics? no idea really how many tokens we will earn or what they will be worth all we have is this from their website:-

We are currently implementing the WXM ERC20 tokenomics in Polygon dev net with a small closed user group. You can join our beta by purchasing a weather data miner.  Mining rewards will be reimbursed to participating users upon launch on mainnet.

I am excited about this project but also very nervous. Have we done the right thing? only time will tell with this one so we will wait and be patient. I see now that there are a few warning signs there, as we have learnt so much more since we ordered the station and still more research should have been done. Hopefully though all will be good.

I don't think i need to do the whole this is not financial advice disclaimer just yet but one day i may look back on these posts and think 'were you mad' or 'wow that was a great move'. What do you think?

Thanks for reading as always.
