Merry Christmas/ happy holidays to all.
Last Christmas our new family tradition was guess the price of Bitcoin on Christmas day, we had all, months previously written down our predictions and sealed them, ready to open them at 12.00 on Christmas day. The 'winner' or whoever was closest would get $100 to buy the crypto of their choice.
Now my teenage son wants BTC for Christmas, so I guess that will be his choice if he wins, surprisingly he is learning more from us than I thought because when his teacher asked him what he wanted to do when he left school, his answer was 'to trade crypto'. His teacher laughed at him, but I guess he had the last laugh as his portfolio looks pretty good. Teaching him to think for himself and not 'follow the herd' seems to be paying off but I have explained that he will need to generate some income to pay for his trading activities!
Last year's predictions. 2023
The actual price was $43,161
Me $42,140, I was out by $1,021
David $42,365, he was out by $796 (My husband was the winner)
Our teenage son $45,000, he was out by $1,839
So last year our predictions were pretty close, even though there was no discussion or conferring over what we had written. Then on New years day we wrote down our Bitcoin prediction for 2024, again no conferring, sealed them, ready to open on Christmas day again. (I am actually excited to see what I have put down!)
How did we do this time?
The actual price was $96K at the time of opening our predictions.
Me $82,350 I was out by $13,650
David $88,500 He was out by $7,500
Our teenage son $75,000 He was out by $21,000
Well done to my husband David as he was closest.
We will continue this for Christmas 2026 by again sealing our predictions for next year.
