Hey there!
Atlast the three and a half month vacations have come to an end. I'm both happy and sad at the moment. I have arrived at my university and it seems just like yesterday I was leaving this place for my long long vacations. I came here by train with my dad and it was really wholesome.
I love to travel by train because I've spent all my childhood summer vacations in Karachi and we used to go there by train which takes 24 hours to reach there. Now my relatives have left Karachi so we don't go there. On the other hand we've all developed a relation with a new city, Lahore. Travelling by train is always amusing. You'll never get bored. One reason being the diverse passangers accompanying you. There are people from all over the country and speak different languages, either some passangers are going for a serious family problem or some are going to attend a celebration like a wedding or to spend their vacations just like we used to do.
The passangers with me were really nice people but sadly they were going to Lahore to solve a family dispute. I saw the elder lady cry as she was talking to her daughter-in-law. Both ladies were really close to eachother and i liked their bond. They had 2 baby boys and I must say they were such well mannered children. Not once did they cry or shout or annoy others like typical children. We had a good conversation on the topic' " Are Joint Families Necessary?". I personally don't think so because this just takes up privacy plus humans are very pugnacious. Living in a place and having to share things can lead to problems. They on the other hand shared that they had been living in a joint family since the elder woman got married and finally got separated when her second son got married as there were too many people in the house now.
The other source of enjoyment on a train are the vendors that get in your train at every stop. Some are really funny by voice while others conversate with each other in a funny accent that makes it a whole comedy scene. The scenic beauty is unmatachable when it comes to train stations. These stations were made during the British rule and are still erect till date. Some improvemnets have been made like installing computerized ticketing and vendor systems but the overall buildings with their aesthetic sense have been well preserved for generations to see.
Travelling with my dad was the best part as we talked alot and I introduced him to new things in Lahore. Having a loving father is indeed a great blessing. May you all have loving fathers!
Have a good day!
