Hey there!
My new semester has started and I had mentioned it earlier that this one is quite challenging. So was the last one but I have managed to at least get a grip of this one. While being challenging this semester is all the more interesting too because of many cool subjects we are about to study.
This semester I am studying a course called “Embedded Systems”. This course is about devices that have mini CPUs in them. Let me break it down for you. Just like computers have CPUs that work like the brain, many daily devices have a mini version of these CPUs. As the name suggests, this course is quite challenging too because we ourselves have to work like a CPU to figure out how our device will work. Nevertheless, we are not worried about this course because our teacher is very nice. He is such a dedicated teacher that the moment we attended his first class I knew I had to share it with you all. I believe that if a teacher is goal oriented, you learn a lot without actually putting much effort. What my teacher does is he brings food items like cupcakes, popcorn etc. and asks us to learn a few things in the lab in a fixed time. He then conducts a quiz sometimes individually and sometimes by making teams. The 1st and 2nd teams get the prize. I have also managed to win a cupcake once XD. This not only helps in memorizing things but also makes us participate in activities. In our first class our teacher mentioned that he was also the student of our department and after working in the industry for 8 years decided that he would do something to uplift the students of the place that had given him knowledge but there were many things he had to learn by himself when he went to work on field. The major weakness he saw in the youth is the lack of confidence and the fear of being wrong and this is where he came in to help eradicate this problem in the coming youth.
I would like to mention here that this is our university teacher. To many people this might seem awkward to be done in a university classroom but honestly we are all children from inside and even if we don’t think of it as only childish we can actually see that it is the motivation for the prize that drives us to learn better and participate in these activities. I sincerely hope that each one of use plays a constructive role in our society just like my teacher is doing.
Have a nice day!
