1BTC Project - A disappointing but understandable change from Shakepay.

The first three things I do every morning are

1. Turn off my alarm.

2. Open shake pay and shake my phone to earn my #ShakeSats.

3.Kiss my wife.

Hopefully that is my morning schedule for the rest of my life. If you have read any on my monthly summary posts for the last 2 years you will know that I am a huge fan of Shakepay. It basically owns the number one earner spot each month.

I was excited because in a few days I will achieve a 365 day #ShakeSat streak. A full calendar year. I blew it last year because I got a little drunk at the office Christmas party and forgot. It was tragic. Little would I know that a year later tragedy would strike again.

At day 365 the timing of the #ShakeSats lined up so thay you would start earning 1000 per day. Then you're on easy street. 1000 sats per day for as long as you can keep the streak alive. At current levels that is $1.00 CAD per day.

Imagine Bitcoin at $250,000 USD? Shaking your phone each morning and earning a Starbucks coffee or paying for your grocery bill through Shakesats. The Lord knows I did.

But Shakepay giveth and Shakepay taketh away.

On November 7th, 2024 the developers at Shakepay made a huge change to the Shakesat payment schedule. My daily shake has dropped by 60%. Last week I was earning 980 sats per day, I have been reset to the 300s. A true Greek tragedy. Now I understand that doling out 1000 sats per is not sustainable in a market like this, but I wish they made this change next month. I was so close to making it a full year.

My monthly earn is going to take a huge hit because of this but I would rather take a hit now to keep Shakepay in business long term. Just keep grinding.
