It was a long road to get here but 2024 is over. Part of the fun of keeping track of everything, is being able to look back at trends and figure out what worked and what didn't.
In 2024 I added 0.013231019 BTC to my stack. At the time of writing this, that amount equates to roughly $1,800 CAD. I paid 0.00458 in Bitcoin equivalent, which equals $650 CAD. This is like buying my Bitcoin at a 65% discount to the market.
I added over$1,000 in value for free in 2024, and all it cost me was around $650 and my free time.
Where were the gains being made? Here is the break down?
Top 5 Income Streams:
1. Shakepay
Paid - $183 CAD
Net Gain - $701.76 CAD
BTC Added - 0.006254 BTC
I knew very early on this year that Shakepay was going to be my top earner. I know it will continue to be a top earner for the foreseeable future. The above visualization shows just how dominant Shakepay was. This app was responcible for nearly half of my sats added.
Just crazy.
If you live in Canada and you are not using Shakepay yet, you are doing yourself a disservice.
2. COIN app
Paid - $154.59 CAD
Net Gain - ($53.23) CAD
BTC Added - 0.00071656 BTC
Although it did contribute the second most Bitcoin to my stack this was a loss.
The coin app is the platform I have spent the most money using. I ended my premium subscription to this platform in March of 2024. I would not suggest using the paid subscription unless you have a job where you are constantly moving while in a Wi-Fi zone. Like a bus driver or you work on a commuter train or something like that.
It was very, very hard to be in a profitable position each month while using the premium subscription.
The free version is still a good beginner app. I use it daily. You can make free crypto from this platform.
3. Coinbase
Paid - $0.00 CAD
Net Gain - $274.06 CAD
BTC Added - 0.00193742 BTC
The Learn and Earn has slowed down as of late, but with Bitcoin hanging around the all time highs, I forsee the comeback of Learn and Earn Challenges. Check out Coinbase. They are reputable and they pay.
4. Online Casinos
Paid - $0.00 CAD
Net Gain - $244.30 CAD
BTC Added - 0.001727 BTC
I finally just wrote my write up of my online "gambling" strategy. You can read that here. There are many placed to earn small amounts of money on the internet, this is just one of mine. Small gains won't change your life, but adding to your crypto stack in a smart, risk free way may pay huge dividends years down the line.
5. Cointiply Faucet.
Paid - $0.00 CAD
Net Gain - $91.61 CAD
BTC Added - 0.00064761 BTC
I fell out of love with Cointiply this year. The Faucet was ok when it worked. I got up to the 100% match, and then had it taken away from me arbitrarily. I will still use Cointiply on my gatherer phone, but only when I remember to, and to redeem codes. I won't be committing too much time here. I guarantee this won't make the 2025 list.
Here is a chart that shows the growth of my crypto holdings in BTC equivalent. Like a good chart it is moving up and to the left. The difference between the Green and the Red line is the value of my BNB.
This next chart is interesting. I tracked my monthly spent vs my monthly earn and the results are bascially void. There is obviously a correlation between the lines. When I am spending more I am stacking more, but because of the chunky nature of some of the income streams a 0 spend month could be a great month. I high spend month isn't necessarily a great month for gains.
Very inconclusive but it is interesting.
The last chart is my per day earn. I am hoping that next month, with my recent program adds, program subtractions, and some DeFi snowballing thanks to KuCoin I can get my per day earn consistently over $3.00 CAD per day.
This is net of spend but even so the trend is good. The next big spend I can foresee is to upgrade my NFT on GoMining. I still feel bad that my BTC was lost in the ether due to KuCoin's minimum. That will crater my average but the bounce back the following month should be immediate.
