After all the El salvador bitcoin legal tender situation. The CEO of Celsius predicts that we can reach a 160k bitcoin this year.
This prediction comes with a big if. The CEO bases it's prediction on the possibility of countries such as Brazil or Nigeria following the same steps of El Salvador.
Don't get me wrong, I am all in favor not only that countries adopt bitcoin and other cryptos, and I am bullish on bitcoin. However it doesn't seem very probable that big and relevant countries will follow the same steps as el salvador so soon.
From my understanding what El salvador is doing is taking advantage of the crypto hype. It might not make a big difference on their country if it doesn't work out, but if it does we might see the first crypto heaven, and that might bring some real development to the country.
When we put this decision on countries like Brazil and Nigeria, the potential international backlash and internal political pressure might be one of the reasons this kind of decision won't happen so soon.
As much as I would like to agree with the reasoning and the prediction I find myself more cautious in regards to this matter.
