After using the Brave Browser for several months, I finally got my first rewards deposited into my Uphold wallet this week. I am thankful to have finally received BAT; however, there could be many reasons why someone would want to transfer their crypto from Uphold to a different wallet. In this article, I will show you how to withdraw your funds from Uphold to a MetaMask wallet.
Once you have logged into your Uphold account, you will see several different “cards” that store different types of crypto and fiat currency. To withdraw Your Brave earnings, you will want to click on the card that says “Brave Browser.”
Once you have clicked on your Brave Browser card, you will be taken to another screen where you have options for what you want to do with this currency. If you wanted to withdraw to a bank account, you would select the grey icon that says bank account, but for our purposes, we want to select on the gold icon that says “to cryptocurrency or utility token.”
Scroll down to the bottom where you can select “Basic Attention Token.”
On the next screen, you will be required to enter the address that you wish to send your BAT to. You can directly copy this address by clicking the public key area in your MetaMask wallet. There is currently no fee for sending BAT tokens out of the Uphold wallet, so I recommend sending a very small BAT transaction the first time just to make sure that you have followed the process correctly.
The last step is to confirm your transaction by entering the two-factor authentication code. This confirmation screen will also show you the asset that you are withdrawing and the amount of fees that you must pay (zero in this case).
Once you confirm the transaction, you will get a notification in the top right-hand corner of your screen that says the transaction has been sent to the network.
If you wish to watch this transaction process in real time, you can view on Etherscan by clicking the activity tab, scrolling down to the transaction, and clicking on the link that says Blockchain Transaction ID.
After about 15 minutes, I received a confirmation email that the BAT had arrived in my MetaMask wallet. Withdrawing BAT from Uphold is a simple process, and best of all, there are no fees!As with everything else, it is important to be careful. Even though the process is very simple, I always recommend sending a very small first transaction just to make sure that everything is working right.
