In this post you will find out how to use Uniswap to exchange your tokens. It is pretty quick and easy.
What is Uniswap?
Uniswap is a protocol that people can use to exchange ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.
It removes the need for third parties from the transactions, like banks or PayPal-like platforms, and allows for quick transfers.
In general, Uniswap gives us decentralization, censorship resistance, and security.
How to use Uniswap?
First go to this page: https://uniswap.info/home
You will see the search bar in the beginning, where you should type the name of the given token. In our case, that is 1UP.
Click on 1UP and you will go to the next page.
Here you will see the token’s statistics, and if you scroll down, you will see the latest transactions that had happened.
However, if you want to swap the tokens, you have to click on the button Trade on the right.
You will go to another page.
Now, you should choose the tokens you would like to swap. For example, 1UP to ETH.
So, choose both from the fields.
Then click on connect wallet, to execute the swap.
We will use MetaMask for this example, but just keep in mind that there were some problems found with it, and some people lost their 1UP trying to send them there. So just be cautious with it.
Now, simply enter the amount you would like to swap and click the button.
That’s it, you have now exchanged your 1UP and the conversion is automatically recorded in your wallet.
Personal thoughts on Uniswap
I’m not going to lie, I have never used Uniswap and I’m not planning o use it at all.
It might be the fastest way in which you can exchange your tokens, but it is more expensive one too.

Another thing I don’t like is that there are just a few wallets you can choose from, and you will most probably have to create one of those for yourself before you are able to swap anything.
I couldn’t find an option to add a wallet that I want to, like TrustWallet, for example.
I don’t like the user interface either, and this that every step redirects you to a new tab.
