In the era of 6G, the face of Bitcoin and blockchain is likely to undergo further advancements and transformations. As a sixth-generation wireless technology, 6G is expected to bring about significant improvements in terms of network speed, capacity, and reliability. 5G is still slowly being rolled out throughout Sweden and not yet available for me and my old iPhone 13 Plus.
Although 5G networking is still in the early stages of deployment, 6G is already being imagined in the next phase of development. My first 2400 baud modem only took several minutes to download a JPEG from the Bulletin Board Services (BBS) that were available at that time. I remember being proud of my new 14.4k internal PC modem after upgrading from my 9600 baud external Hayes smart modem in the 1980s. Experts around 1990 predicted that the upper limit of data for telephony would never exceed 33.6k.
Yeah, anyway, although 6G is currently theoretical, researchers are envisioning terahertz waves, sitting somewhere betwixt microwave and infrared for the next phase of wireless communication. The 6G microscopic waves would vastly reduce latency and provide data speeds of 1Tbps.
These advancements would have a profound impact on the adoption and use of Bitcoin and blockchain technology. Here are just seven potential implications:
Enhanced Transaction Speed
6G's ultra-low latency and high-speed connectivity would greatly improve the transaction speed of Bitcoin. With faster and more reliable network connections, Bitcoin transactions could be processed more quickly and efficiently, leading to a smoother user experience and increased scalability.

Most experts expect 6G to become a reality in as little as seven years from now. I have underwear and socks that are much older than seven years. Seven years will not be a significant span of time to wait for instantaneous and seamless connection between any two points on the globe.
And yeah, if 6G doesn’t pan out, it will be because someone (or something) thought of a better way to facilitate nondilatory communication and data transfer.
