July, What Kind Of... (Two in a Row)

The last week of July.
The poem of you and I.
A dream that will not die.
A crying butterfly.

Between the planets and the stars.
Above your darkness and the scars.
In the sea, the earth, the sky.
Gods tell their reason why.

About the words right from the heart.
About a thought that always counts.
About an honest tear that flows.
Love from me, and no one knows.

What kind of...

Dying is being born in reverse:
a gift.
I've never asked to be born,
and I'll never ask to die.
Men curse at God
because of the horrific things
that they witness.
I see the horror as proof
that this is all an illusion.
So, they might be right
when "they" state:
"What kind of God..."

I compose poetry and prose about the disappointments of life; dishonest people we come across; crushed hopes and expectations; the corruption that lies within everyone, but also lighter stuff.
