Heroes
You're not supposed to meet your heroes,
see them up-close,
and talk with them.
They should be shrouded in mystery,
unmeetable,
yet believable,
magical,
hope giving
in all their invisibility,
and untouchable,
like Jesus.
The Fireplace
The smell,
the danger of the heat.
The shadows on the stones
that free-dance
as the fire fights its way up,
like demons,
excited
as yet another fallen angel,
in the form of a spark,
goes on its way
to drag another sinner down there.

Heroes, The Fireplace
