End Start, Guilty

End Start

A lesson learned,
but much too soon.
Divided
between the sun and moon.
Grab a hold,
you're on your way.
Tragedy follows
throughout the day.
A new kind of home,
a new place to start.
A jailhouse built
around a broken heart.

Guilty

No one can sleep with their eyes open;
we're all guilty of something.
But the world is too heavy for our shoulders,
the screams are too loud,
too distorted for our ears.
The honest light of the poor
is too bright for our eyes,
and God is too innocent
to be recognized by our brains.
