Day-mares and Night-dreams
If only my day-mares
could be night-dreams.
I could simply walk away,
open my eyes,
and the fear would fade away,
but the day,
unlike the night,
always seems to have its way.
Why must the sun make me blind?
Why must I drown in the rain?
Everything in daylight
slowly drives me insane.
The night never lies.
In all my dreams,
everything is always
just the way it seems.
Must I live in the dark
to make my night-dreams come true,
or should I stay in my day-mare
every day without you?

I compose poetry and prose about the disappointments of life; dishonest people we come across; crushed hopes and expectations; the corruption that lies within everyone, but also lighter stuff. Go read it, and don't forget to like, tip, and share it. Much love, Vincent
