The haze of anguished sorrow sits amidst the pool of pain, It's gentle wave-less wonder left to wallow in its gaze, The numbing cold that shivers deep, the itch no man can claim, The bars that cage our very soul and keep our dreams at bay, The starless night of bleakest Black, the fog of dullest grey, The heartless fight that keeps us wrapped inside its clinking chains, The rusted binds their grind resounds and echoes through our veins, Our spirit fettered, drowned and bound, our life it slips away, No light is left within this place, a space where nothing reigns, Empty, dark, a dreary damp disaster made of pain, The only company that's kept are demons I must face, Alone I stand against all odds and battle day by day, They charge ferociously and gnaw and claw away the sane, 'til madness mends the hopeless heart and chance becomes a game, To roll the dice on life itself and rise up once again, Takes all the strength that I have left, one push to make a change, My soul encumbered, full of doubt, alas I take the stage, I rid myself of burdened shackles and reach into my brain, Withdrawing such a shiny sliver of hope I hold it raised, I become the light within the night and shine as bright as day, My spirit lifts up from the Ash and I burst into flame, Reborn from sorrow and defeat I fly up from the haze, A guiding light for all below, those drowning in their pain, Look up and see there's still a chance for hope to be regained, So battle all those demons, rage, wage war until their slain, And roll the dice a final time so you may rise again.
