BE A SKILLFUL PERSON
Skill is a fundamental requirement for been successful in the journey of life. As a preacher and conference speaker, I have had the privilege of talking to and counseling people, it is a great privilege but most of the people who are dreaming of becoming great in life do not have what is required of them to achieve their dreams. “If you look at successful people carefully, you will see that they possess the required skills to get their job done.” To become a successful person in life, you must be a capable person, which means to possess the expertise to get the job done. To be skillful means having the know-how to accomplishing the vision. “You do not become a skillful person overnight. It takes a lot of practice and training which leads to possessing the experience which will gives you an edge in your field.” When you are skillful, you become a competent person. Competence makes you capable of achieving your dreams. A skillful or competent person is an asset anywhere anytime and at any occasion. So to be successful you have to cultivate the skills required.
Anything you do over and again through practice will turn you into a skillful person in your chosen field. When you are skillful, you end up becoming an expert. That in turn makes you a competent person in your chosen career. “But bear in mind that competency is a product of knowledge and experience.” You cannot buy it in the market. And you cannot lobby for it; though you can buy certificate but you cannot buy experience.
YOU MUST BE WELL-INFORMED
To become successful in life you must be a knowledgeable person in your chosen field. “Knowledge is an essential component to achieving greatness in life.” To be knowledgeable means to be a well-informed person. How well-informed are you in your quest to achieving your dreams. When you are knowledgeable, you will become profitable to yourself and others. “And one of the indications of being a knowledgeable person is productivity. A knowledgeable person is a productive person.” If you are not productive in what you do, it means that you are not well-informed in your field. How conversant you are in your field of play will give you a competitive edge at what you do.
Productivity is getting the result you desire which is the output of your competence or capability. “Until you are able to do what you say you can do and do it well in a way no one else can, you cannot be said to be an asset. Becoming an asset means you cannot be easily replace by someone else in your chosen field.” Efficiency is the keyword. When you are well-informed, it causes you to become effective in life. To achieve greatness you must be knowledgeable in your chosen field. Knowledge produces confidence which gives you the unique ability to perform at a short notice of time and still get the work done with maximum results.
Results are proof that you know what you say you know. Until there is result to show for what you do, you are not knowledgeable enough. Knowledge can be defined as possessing all the relevant facts required to accomplish the results needed. The key to great success is having the workable plan and possessing the required knowledge to using the available resources for achieving maximum outcome. This is why developing your imaginative capacity is an essential component to achieving your life’s goals and aspirations.
