From STRANGERS ON A TRAIN to obscure indépendant cinema; Friday night is solo date night, it would seem 😊

It's Friday night, I don't have my children and as we are still in the midst of lockdown and, it is cold and windy out there, it looks like another cosy night in.

I went for a long walk, came home, had a luxurious bath and then had my dinner (last post), which was superb!

And then had a little sing along with myself to another song off the Music to make love to your old lady by album, by the marvellous Lovage (see to Catch a thief à few posts back). This one is called Strangers on a Train and has set me off on a train of thought...such a Seductive song!  (where is says password, type in the word Train)

I feel like I have had a bit of a date with myself this evening... A long walk, a hot bath with nice smelling oils...a gorgeous dinner, sensual music, red wine... And now what? If this was an actual date and beyond the third date, there may be something more exhilarating than food, music and verbal communication going down, but alas, there are no such conventions present in this date, because a) this is a date for 1 and b) I've been dating myself for a whole lotta time now, I think I'm beyond '3rd date terms' with myself 😊

I may watch a film... Something erotic/romantic perhaps... Choices are;

The Cook, the thief, his wife and her lover

Gorgeous piece of film, oozing sensuality and erotica and a masterpiece in cinematography.... Or

 The Pillow Book   as with The Cook the Thief, directed by the wonderful Peter Greenaway. Again, another exploration into the depths of erotiscm and sensuality. Not seen this for 20 years though... Or

Amer

A slightly disturbing but interesting and effective portrayal of a young woman's life. French-Belgian (not in English). Erotic in parts. Mainly just very art house - minimal narrative. Great film but not sure if I'm in the mood for that.

The Housemaid

Couched as erotic melodrama and apparently a remake of a 60's classic. A love triangle basically that gets out of hand... Korean, so again subtitles, which if I'm tired I struggle with but Korean cinematography, in my experience, tends to be in a class of it's own. I doubt my tiredness will interfere. Getting warmer, I like the sound of this and the only one I haven't seen so far. Or, last but not least;

Crash

Classic David Cronenberg, but one I have yet to watch. By all accounts it is pretty out there and although erotic, very darkly so, borderline disturbing... Oh... However will I cope? 😊

Let the rest of the evening commence... I'll do a film review of whichever one I watch tomorrow. Have a good Friday evening/weekend folks, and if you are single, why not follow suit and treat yourself like you would a lover... Wine and dine yourself and be nice ❤️
