I am not a owner of NFT's and never bought one before, but, since I am a gamer, I used to think how would it be if nft's would be available on videogames?
What if this awesome skin in Overwatch has a real value and one day I could resell it and probably gain from it?
If console video games were to introduce NFT (Non-Fungible Token) like skins, it could potentially change the landscape of gaming in a number of ways.
Firstly, NFTs could provide a new level of customization for players, allowing them to own unique and rare in-game items that they can show off to others. This could add a new level of personalization and pride to the gaming experience, and could even create a secondary market for NFT trading.
However, there are also potential downsides to introducing NFTs into console video games. For one, it could lead to an increase in the already significant problem of microtransactions and "pay-to-win" models in the gaming industry. Players who are willing to spend more money on NFTs could have an unfair advantage over those who cannot or will not spend as much.
Additionally, there is the question of whether or not NFTs are environmentally sustainable. The process of creating and trading NFTs requires a significant amount of energy, which could contribute to environmental problems such as climate change.
Overall, introducing NFTs into console video games would likely have both positive and negative impacts on the industry. It would be up to game developers to carefully consider the potential benefits and drawbacks and to ensure that NFTs are implemented in a way that is fair and sustainable for all players.
Meanwhile seems that Square Enix (my favorite videogames company) is getting closer to NFT's in a way or another...let's what will happen...
