The web3 gives us the possibility of winning a lot by being in first. But to do anything in Web3 you need cryptocurrencies and you can buy them. If you don’t want to buy any crypto money, welcome to my post where you will know how to get some crypto for free.
Today I wanted to talk to you about Play to earn games because these games are slowly taking an important place in the video game ecosystem, due to the attraction of money but also in the Web3 ecosystem. Indeed, if we refer to films talking about the metaverse which is part of the Web3, such as Ready Player One, we can see them playing games in which they put money and in which they can also win money. So I think that if one day a real metaverse is created, video games and especially plays to earn will have a very important place. That being said I will explain in this guide, what it is, how it works, the different types and in a second post (because I don't want to make a 25mn guide that would be boring), which are the most known, how to start and what are the advantages and disadvantages of the most known.
What is a play-to-earn?
As the name suggests, a play-to-earn is a video game in which you can earn money by playing. This is a new category of video games as before there were pay-to-play games where you buy the game to play it, free-to-play games where you can play for free and pay-to-win games which are free to play but if you really want to progress in the game, you have to pay bonuses.
How does it work?
In these games, you will be rewarded for either just playing and earning money for each level or opening cards, boxes you get while playing that give you random loots that can be sold for cryptocurrency.
The different types
Play-to-earn games are video games as we said before but they are not restricted to one category of games. Indeed, we already have a majority of play-to-earn games in which in order to earn money, you have to invest a little bit at the beginning which makes them a kind of pay-to-earn but some of them only require your time as investment. The second thing to know is that there is something for everyone: turn-based card games, fps, rts, farm simulator, rpg ....
So now you can earn money by playing instead of losing money by buying buggy games (Ubisoft) or buying lots of useless skins (Fortnite).
Thank you very much for reading this first part and I will explain in a second part how to start and on which game to start
