Best Cryptocurrency Wallets 2020: Top 5 Picks [August 2020]

A Cryptocurrency wallet is a software program that stores private and public keys and it interacts with various blockchain. A Cryptocurrency can be stored either on a desktop, mobile, web, or a hardware wallet. Thinking
of buying crypto? where is the safest place to store them?
What is the point of hitting a 500x Altcoin jackpot only for you to find out you've lost it? Treat your Crypto like the million dollars it could worth in the future. Here are my top picks;

1. Ledger Nano [Hardware Wallet]
Ledger Nano is a hardware wallet and a hardware wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet which stores the user's private keys (critical piece of information used to authorise outgoing transactions on the blockchain network) in a secure hardware device. The Ledger Nano hardware wallet is a physical device which looks a bit like a USB drive. I believe it to be the most secure crypto wallet money can buy. Ledger wallets support over a thousand different cryptos and you can easily manage your portfolio using the Ledger Live app. The Ledger Nano consists of different types, the Ledger Nano S and the Ledger Nano X. The Ledger Nano X supports a wide range of coins and it's more expensive than the Ledger Nano S.

2. Exodus Wallet [Software Wallet]

 Exodus is ranked as the number one desktop wallet by trusted sites such as Bitcoin Exchange Guide and because of its impressive features and support for a large number of coins. But the wallet has also suffered negative publicity as users consistently complain about losses incurred when storing coins in the wallet. Exodus is a software wallet created by JP Richardson and Daniel Castagnoli. It's also Available for Android and iOS devices. In my opinion, it isn’t as secure as hardware wallets, but you can upgrade its security through an integration with Trezor. That makes Exodus one the most malware-proof free wallets out there.

3. Trezor Wallet [Hardware Wallet]

Trezor is another type of hardware wallet that has been in existence since 2013 and shares many of its security benefit as Ledger. In terms of security, I prefer Ledger but the Trezor is beginner friendly and it's easier to set up.

 4. Metamask [Software Wallet]

 MetaMask is a digital wallet for managing, transferring, and receiving ETH and ERC-20 tokens. Because it acts as an extension, it bridges a normal browser such as Firefox to Ethereum blockchain. The good thing with MetaMask is that it allows users to fully interact with Ethereum without downloading the entire blockchain. Indeed, you can even run an Ethereum DApp without using a full Ethereum node. It's available on Google play store and an extension for PC browsers like Brave, Firefox and Chrome. However the mobile version should be used with caution since it's still in its Beta Stage.

5. Trust Wallet [Software Wallet]

Trust Wallet is very easy to use and understand, with both an intuitive user interface and a whole lot of useful features designed with the user in mind. Trust Wallet allows users to store private keys on their own device, an important security feature, and it includes a backup facility for simple recovery, and it's also Open Source.

Trust Wallet was acquired by Binance in July 2018, and it natively support Binance DEX and Binance Chain, it also supports ETC/POA DApps and Tron DApps, it also works with any ERC223 and ERC20 tokens. If you want to play some Crypto games, then Trust wallet is the way to go. In terms of security, I have never heard of any hacks, but have this in mind It can never be secure like an Hardware Wallet.
