The Pi Network, which is seeking to bring its mobile first crypto currency to the mass market, this week passed a critical landmark, 550,000 active members. That is 550,000 of users (Pioneers) engaging daily with the lightweight mining app in order to mine free Pi tokens every day.

The network's founders, three Stanford alumn, have put building a network of users at the center of the design of their system, using the trust between members as critical part of validating transactions by consensus.

They anticipate enabling the first in app transactions, another big step, within the next few weeks.

With this growth rate I have the Pi Network firmly on my one to watch list, and one to earn my first few tokens in.

If you want to get mining on your phone via the Pi Network you will need to download the Pi Network App and to get you linked to the network add an introduction code: Tomatosoup

Enjoy your Pi!
