Derek's CryptoMusic #5

The Youtube algorithm sometimes takes you to amazing places. Lucky me it made me discover the work of Hiroshi Yoshimura

He pioneered the minimalist genre of kankyō ongaku, or environment music, in the 1980s and '90s — soft electronic melodies infused with the sounds of nature; babbling brooks, steady rain, morning birds

Hiroshi passed away in 2003 and was never super famous. His music was played at museums, galleries and show homes. Thanks to Youtube, around 2017 his albums started to catch the audiophiles attention and got millions of plays. Now, his name is well known to those who seek high quality ambient music.

Hiroshi Yoshimura is the first (of many) artists im showcasing in the 'Japanese Ambient Series', here at CryptoMusic blog.

Let me know in the comments how you like it! Have good week...
