Ready for another round of crypto news delivered in a concise matter? Let's get to it!

Hyper-capitalism benefiting an oppressive socialist dictator?

What?

According to a report from Bloomberg, the Venezuelan government is exploring the option to pay international creditors via bitcoin and ethereum.

How?

Due to the economic collapse of the Venezuelan economy, and the sanctions imposed by the U.S. The government of Nicolas Maduro is trying to come up with strategies to pay its bills. One of the latest ideas is, according to anonymous sources, hodling on bitcoin and ethereum.

What's the result so far?

No official announcement on the part of the Venezuelan authorities as been made so far acknowledging the alleged stash of crypto, but some legal changes made recently might indicate that the Venezuelan government is gearing towards accepting and promoting crypto payments within its territory.

Jeff Bezos is the Landlord of 24.6% of Ethereum,... Wait, What!?

What?

24.6% of all the Ethereum Nodes run/depend on Amazon Web Services, the highest percentage on all of the ethereum network.

How?

The commentary from Decrypt is extremely on point:

"Amazon Web Services tops the list, running 24.6 percent of Ethereum nodes. Next up is Alibaba Cloud, which runs 5.5 percent of all nodes, followed by Google Cloud, which runs 5.4 percent of all nodes.

That means that the CEOs of these companies - Jeff Bezos, Daniel Zhang or Sundar Pichai, and not the people - technically decide Ethereum’s fate. They have the power to shut off access to Ethereum nodes that rely on cloud services, meaning that, surprise surprise, Ethereum isn’t the bastion of decentralization we once thought it was."

What's the result so far?

Sadly, another idealistic talking point of cryptoland has been debunked. :(

XRP Refugees Say "United We Are #RippleOne!"

What?

An XRP twitter commentator with 102K Followers has started a discord channel to openly discuss the option to fork a non-dumping version of XRP.

How?

In its own tweet:

Finally, people are starting to take this seriously! If they don’t stop dumping XRP, the next step

will be a community takeover. We will fork this s***t and start again. That is a promise!!”

What's the result so far?

The reception of the idea by the XRP community has been skeptical at best.
