Private browsing - Is it really Safe?

Private browsing is a method of browsing where you can keep your tracking data secure and secret from other

One of the main key features of private tab or private browsing is that it doesn't store your passwords on any site neither browsing history

It gets rid of your saved passwords, private keys and also field contents.

While your using Private tab or private browsing on your browser you will find a default search engine named Duckduckgo

Its a secured search engine willemphasizes protecting searchers privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results.

DuckDuckGo distinguishes itself from other search engines by not profiling its users and by showing all users the same search results for a given search term

Unlike Google Duckduckgo doesn't store users tracking data to show users location friendly ads and neither store location of users

Private browsing might give you privacy while browsing but it won't save you from malwares ads or neither ISP monitoring

But still people say it's safe but actually its not . So think again before you suggest anyone using private tabs or chrome browser

In years developers have worked hard to implement the private browsing option on browsers like Chrome, Safari, Firefox

Many users think private browsing will protect them against malware, advertising, tracking scripts, and monitoring by internet service providers (Isp) But in reality they dont

So, lets dig down to the main topic why private tabs or private browsing isnt secure by discussing those major point listed below

Private browsing - Why it hides from us?

Cookies is a micro method that stores data while you are browsing or visit any website from any browser on normal or private tabs

Cookie allows web browsers to enable tracking and allows browers to track users activities, information and also keeps them logged in any particular website

Some websites use cookies to keep track of language, confique themes and other options

Private browsing is designed to browse without keeping track of your data but when cookies are enable on the website while browsing using private tabs it still keep track of you indirectly

when you open a private window, cookies from your main browsing window aren’t carried over and when you close the private browsing window, all cookies you generated during your session will be destroyed.

Without cookies web browsers cant track you or neither identify you but there is still a opening for the web browsers to track you down and its called ISP (internet service provider)

There are few more options for web browsers to track you beside ISP such as Device type and Ip address

Private browsing just hides your history and passwords to autofill but doesnt keep you hidden

It stores all your sensative data such as language you speak, your device type, your Os, your device name etc

If you download anything from any website on the private window it will be visible on the normal tab similar will bookmarks

This means its visible to everyone besides you

ISP role While you use private tab - Does it store what you search?

ISP or Internet Service provider is a critical area while your anonymous or using private window

It gives data to ad service providers such as your location and area details with what you searched recently

This works same if you use a private tab on any browser. So this means network administrator, and government agencies will be still able to track your browsing habits with help of your isp

But you can save yourself from that by using VPN (Virtual Private Network) which mask your location and hides your identity while you browse on any mode including Private window

But it destroys the motive of private tabs as its doesn't save you from all the attacks as it claims to do

Private tabs and virus (malware and trojan)

Malware and trojan are one of the most feared virus available out there. So, does private window saves you from them?

Simple answer No it doesn't. you can just mask your histroy while you browse but cant save yourself from virus

You never know when can a virus attack you while browsing. It can attack you with help of JavaScript, cookies or even with your tracking data

Most coomon way of getting attacked by a virus is when your downloading a file under a unsecured network or responding to a phising mail

This will help attackers to implement virus on your device to track your data and steal them with valuable assets too

Private tabs still stay slient here as they doesn't even try to stop you when you try to access a unsecured website and doesn't help you out

Only on way to save yourself from Virus is to use a Anti - Virus that detects and kills Onlie virus to keep you safe

Private browsing is a very useful and handy tool for a quick browsing that will not leave traces of your browsing historyon your device

But still it wont keep you anonymous or hidden from others as companies from tracking your habits of browsing or snooping
