Journey to 1000x - Vol. 6

By BryRi | BryRi Method | 15 Sep 2020

At the end of July, I published an article on an up & coming project that is making progress.  As with anything that is a future not totally clear, perspectives are on all sides.  For that reason let's take a look on our Journey to 1000x - Vol. 6

3.14

Let's start with asking the question.  How much is 1 minute of your time worth?

That's about how much time it takes to become a Pioneer in the Pi Network.  If you're into Pi, then excellent!  Glad you're here, because there is more to share.

If you have not looked into Pi Network, the truth of the matter is that you can only join the Pi Network through a referral of someone who is already in the Pi Network.

The Case for Pi

If you haven't caught this from other sources or directly from the Pi Network site, here is a quick primer;

As I have written in other articles, there is an interesting use case that is unfolding and whether the project is ultimately successful or folds is still in the balance.

Simply put, the intention is to use mobile phone capacity to mine the Pi token without adverse affect to performance, batter life or anything else.  Also, the intention of leveraging social networks adds another twist to the overall project focus.

In some ways, the pre-adoption of bitcoin mirrors the current condition of Pi Network and its development on some level;

- Free to join

- Strength through leverage of social networks

- Amass large enough following to support growth and adoption.

In a semi-recent article from Broke Veteran blog a poignant statement highlights that currently there is no revenue and this is a highly questionable project.

On one level I can see where this statement is completely valid.  I also think it lacks vision and sight of opportunity for risk needed.

Speaking of Risk

So what are we actually talking about here in terms of risk.

  • There is an element of time
    • Set up the app on your phone (1 min)
    • Once a day update "mine" (30 seconds)
  • Technology Risk
    • Do you trust the software?
    • What about the code?
  • Social Aspect
    • Who is involved?
    • Earning Team?
    • Security Team?
  • Financial Risk
    • Outlay
    • Revenue

All of these areas are pretty straight forward.  Yet, for the moment everything is fairly simple.  This is a project that is still in its very very early stages and working through the proof of what it can do.

As far as trust is concerned, 222 ratings from Trust Pilot give a positive or fair rating of 4.7 out of 5.0.

Summary

At the moment, while the positives are not out of this world, I would say that the negatives are few to none.  Even Changelly has semi-positive outlook on the project from their perspective.

So far Pi Network is just an experiment in the field of mobile mining. If the team will continue to develop the project, the app will become a real phenomenon in the crypto sphere. Stay tuned!

Whatever the final outcome of Pi Network is yet to be determined, but at the moment it is;

  • Low risk
  • No barrier to entry
  • Growing opportunity for engagement (through the Pi virtual conference & on social networks)

and now we will see who is drawn to the project and what else will materialize.  To me this is an interesting opportunity that is unique and work about 30 seconds of my time each day.  Especially when I am on my phone or laptop already.

How about you?

How can you possibly manage home and work? I am asked that question all the time. I don't feel like I'm middle aged until I look in the mirror. Checking the scale and seeing a pound or two difference was never a big deal. In my 20's I could just take a deep breath and loose 5 lbs. But guess what? It stacks up. Combine that with a little stress, less sleep and all of the "trade-offs" we make day in and out. The solution is as simple as making a decision, which takes literally just a moment in time.
